Jewellery Designer @ Malabar Gold

Job Description

1. Creative Design & Concept Development

• Create unique jewellery designs based on trends, themes, or collection briefs.
• Produce hand sketches, digital illustrations, or CAD models.
• Develop mood boards, color palettes, and seasonal design concepts.

2. CAD Modelling & Technical Drawings

• Use CAD software (e.g., Rhino, MatrixGold, JewelCAD) to create accurate 3D models.
• Prepare technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing teams.

3. Trend & Market Research

• Identify global and local jewellery trends, materials, stones, and styles.
• Analyze competitor products and market demand to inspire new design ideas.

4. Coordination with Production & Merchandising

• Work with artisans, setters, and metal workers to ensure accurate execution of designs.
• Support sourcing of gemstones, materials, and components.
• Collaborate with merchandising to align designs with pricing and target customers.

5. Quality Review

• Evaluate prototypes and samples; suggest modifications for aesthetics or feasibility.
• Ensure designs meet quality, durability, and brand standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong creativity and artistic ability
• Proficiency in jewellery CAD software
• Knowledge of gemstones, metals, and jewellery craftsmanship
• Attention to detail and precision
• Ability to visualize and convert ideas into tangible designs
• Understanding of market trends and consumer preferences
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree/diploma in Jewellery Design, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
• Experience: 25 years
