Software Engineer Test - EVPN :
Job Family Definition:
Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining quality engineering protocols and methods for building, assembly and test transforming materials into partially finished or finished products. Ensures compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution. Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products. Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to design, test, manufacturing, quality standards and procedures when necessary. Recommends performance objectives for engineering, test, manufacturing, product and design functions. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean Sigma and others).

Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.
What youll do:
- Creating and executing new test cases/scenarios/test strategy based on the new customer requests or features needed and automating them in below areas
- EVPN-VXLAN leaf-spine fabrics
- EVPN-MPLS L2/L3VPN services
- Multi-homing scenarios (ESI-LAG/EVPN-MH)
- DCI architecture (EVPN Multi-site,IRB)
- Underlay routing behaviour (OSPF/ISIS/BGP)
- BGP EVPN Control plane
- VXLAN encapsulation/decapsulation
- MPLS forwarding (LDP/RSVP/SR-MPLS)
- VTEP behaviour, L2VNI,L3VNI, VRF Routing

- In addition run scale, convergence and stress test
- Doing manual testing and automation in python/pytest/robot in parallel.
- Debugging issues related to EVPN advertisement, BGP Flaps, MPLS label stack issues, ECMP and multi-homing failure, VXLAN packet drops etc.
- Raising high number of good quality defects during the testing.
- Working with SW team to get the defects fixed, providing the complete support
- Review the customer POC/BMT test case, deciding which test cases/technology areas need to be run in the scripts.
- Work on customer found PRs. Provide RCA and add new automation if required to cover it.
- Packet level trouble shooting with traffic analysers
What you need to bring:
- BE/ME/MCA in CS/ECE with 7+ years of relevant experience
- Good understanding of OSI Model, TCP/IP protocol suite (ARP, IP, ICMP, IGMP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, FTP)
- Strong understanding of EVPN-VXLAN data centre fabrics
- Strong understanding of EVPN-MPLS L2/L3VPN services
- Good understanding of protocols like OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, SR-MPLS, LDP, RSVP
- Good understanding of test tools like Agilent, IXIA, Router Tester will be an added advantage
- few years of experience in product test/ regression and BRAS/L2/L3 protocols testing
- Excellent automation skills in python/pytest/robot framework
- Good communication skills
