Job Summary

The Galvanising Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining galvanising equipment to apply protective zinc coatings to metal components. The role ensures products meet quality, safety, and production standards while complying with operational and environmental procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

• Operate galvanising machines, kettles, conveyors, and related equipment safely and efficiently

• Set up machines according to job specifications and production schedules

• Monitor temperatures, coating thickness, chemical concentrations, and cycle times

Quality Control

• Inspect galvanised products for coating thickness, adhesion, surface finish, and defects

• Perform basic tests (visual, thickness gauges) as per quality standards

• Identify and report non-conforming products

Maintenance & Housekeeping

• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance of machines

• Report equipment malfunctions or abnormalities to maintenance teams

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lock-out/tag-out protocols

• Handle chemicals and molten zinc safely according to MSDS and SOPs

• Comply with environmental, health, and workplace regulations

Documentation & Reporting

• Record production data, machine parameters, and quality results

• Complete shift logs and production reports accurately
