Job Description
Senior ServiceNow ITOM Developer
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implementation: Lead the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow ITOM modules, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and Orchestration.
- Integration: Design and manage integrations between ServiceNow and third-party monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and other enterprise systems (LDAP, AD) using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers.
- Configuration Management Database (CMDB): Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and governance of the CMDB, aligning with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and performing health checks.
- Scripting and Automation: Develop workflows, business rules, scripts, and custom integrations to automate routine tasks and enhance platform efficiency using JavaScript, Glide scripting, HTML, and CSS.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization: Diagnose, resolve, and perform performance tuning for complex ITOM issues related to discovery, event processing, and service mapping.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and process owners to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. May also mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
- Documentation and Compliance: Create comprehensive technical design documents, configuration guides, and ensure solutions align with ITIL best practices and security standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience:
- 610 years of overall IT experience with a minimum of 4+ years in hands-on ServiceNow ITOM development and implementation.
- Proven experience in successful, end-to-end ITOM deployments for external or internal customers.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in ServiceNow modules: Discovery patterns, MID Server configuration, Service Mapping, Event Management, and Orchestration.
- Proficiency in web technologies and scripting languages: JavaScript, Glide APIs, HTML, CSS, REST/SOAP APIs.
- Experience with CMDB fundamentals and the CSDM framework.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Education & Certifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is mandatory.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - ITOM (CIS-ITOM) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) are highly preferred.
- ITIL certification is often desirable.
