Job Description
Position Overview
To lead and manage Quality Control (QC) operations across multiple project sites, ensuring the execution of ground improvement and deep foundation works aligns with client specifications, engineering standards, and project quality plans. This role involves hands-on oversight of field testing, material inspection, and procedural compliance while supporting site teams and ensuring uniform quality control practices from the head office.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control System Oversight:
- Lead the implementation and enforcement of ISO 9001:2015-compliant quality control systems.
- Monitor adherence to project-specific QC plans and ensure standardization across all site locations.
Field Quality Supervision Ground Engineering Works:
- Supervise and ensure QC procedures are strictly followed for stone columns, vibro compaction, piling, diaphragm walls, anchoring, and grouting activities.
- Direct QC engineers in inspection, testing, documentation, and corrective action processes.
Specifications & Compliance Monitoring:
- Review construction drawings, project specifications, and contractual documents to ensure QC activities match technical and compliance requirements.
- Verify that on-site practices conform to approved documents and contractual deliverables.
Standards & Code Application:
- Ensure strict adherence to relevant standards (IS, BS, ASTM, ACI) in geotechnical, concrete, and foundation works.
- Provide technical guidance on interpretation and application of these standards in field execution.
Material & Field Testing:
- Supervise field and laboratory testing including pile load tests, stone column tests, concrete strength tests, and in-situ testing.
- Ensure correct handling and testing of stabilization fluids (bentonite, polymer slurries) and maintain related test records.
Materials Inspection & Quality:
- Oversee inspection and testing of all incoming construction materials like aggregates, cement, concrete, grout, and reinforcement steel.
- Coordinate sample collection and third-party lab testing; compile results for client submission and approval.
Equipment & Calibration Management:
- Maintain and audit the master list of equipment calibration across all quality labs and ensure timely calibrations and renewals.
QC Reporting & Site Monitoring:
- Consolidate weekly QC reports from various sites and verify installation records against QC benchmarks.
- Maintain traceable and audit-ready QC documentation in line with ISO and project-specific quality plans.
Non-Conformance & Defect Control:
- Track NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), observations, and customer complaints.
- Initiate and monitor corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure and continuous improvement.
Quality Control Initiatives:
- Lead regular quality inspections, control meetings, and technical training sessions with site teams.
- Support a quality-driven culture through proactive engagement and on-site mentoring.
Coordination & Leadership:
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and QA/QC teams to resolve any quality- related challenges.
- Act as the primary point of contact for QC matters between the head office and project sites.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- 15+ years of hands-on quality control experience in construction or geotechnical projects.
Job Description
