We are seeking an expert ETL Automation Engineer with deep expertise in Python-based automation framework development, strong ETL testing experience, and advanced SQL skills. The ideal candidate will design scalable data testing frameworks, validate complex data pipelines, and collaborate closely with data engineering teams. Basic Selenium knowledge is required for limited UI validation and automation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based ETL automation frameworks from scratch
- Automate validation of ETL workflows, data pipelines, and transformations
- Perform end-to-end data testing across source systems, staging, and target layers
- Develop reusable Python utilities for data comparison, reconciliation, and validation
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data accuracy, completeness, and integrity checks
- Validate batch and nearreal-time ETL jobs
- Perform data profiling, aggregation checks, and exception handling
- Integrate ETL automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and QA teams
- Use basic Selenium automation for UI-level validation
- Review automation code and enforce best practices and standards
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership
Mandatory Technical Skills
ETL & Data Testing
- Strong hands-on experience in ETL testing and data validation
- Experience with data warehouses and data lakes
- Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, or similar
- Strong understanding of data transformations, mappings, and business rules
Programming & Frameworks
- Expert-level Python programming
- Experience building custom automation frameworks using Python
- Knowledge of Python testing frameworks (PyTest / unittest)
- Experience with logging, exception handling, and reusable utilities
Database & SQL
- Advanced SQL expertise
- Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
- Ability to tune and optimize SQL queries for large datasets
