Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the companys PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
Conduct regular database backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Monitor systems health and performance, optimizing as necessary for operational efficiency.
Collaborate with the development team to improve application and database designs.
Required Skills
Proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration, including backup and recovery procedures.
Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
The candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with other database technologies like MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB.
Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
Experience with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes.
Knowledge of database security measures.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience with database design and architectural principles.
Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Experience with data visualization tools and reporting.
