Job Description
Role Overview:
- CGI is seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer with strong experience in Selenium and related automation frameworks
- The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test suites for web applications, ensuring high-quality product delivery through robust testing practices
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium WebDriver
- Build and enhance automation frameworks (Hybrid, Page Object Model, Data-Driven, BDD)
- Analyze functional requirements and convert them into test scenarios and test cases
- Automate regression test suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Execute tests, analyze results, log defects, and track them using tools like JIRA/Azure DevOps
- Work with TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, Git, and other automation tools
- Ensure cross-browser testing using Selenium Grid / cloud platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs)
- Implement best practices in automation strategy, test data management, and reporting
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Required Skills:Strong experience in Selenium WebDriver
- Excellent programming skills in Java or Python
- Strong understanding of OOP concepts and automation framework design
- Expertise in TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle build tools
- Experience with BDD tools (Cucumber/Behave) is a plus
- Experience integrating automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with API testing (Postman, RestAssured) preferred
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle
- Experience with version control systems like Git/GitHub/GitLab
- Knowledge of SQL for basic data validation
- Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
