Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Implementation: Architect, build, and manage scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS .
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation to ensure consistent and reproducible deployments .
- CI/CD Pipelines: Develop, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD to streamline development workflows .
- Monitoring & Performance: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability using monitoring tools . Implement logging and monitoring solutions with tools like Prometheus, Grafana and CloudWatch
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices using AWS services like IAM and KMS, and ensure infrastructure complies with security policies .
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with development teams to improve software delivery processes. Mentor junior engineers and often lead complex projects .
- Cost Optimization: Manage and optimize AWS cloud expenditure through strategic resource management and automation, potentially saving companies hundreds of thousands of dollars annually .
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role, with hands-on experience designing and maintaining AWS infrastructure .
- AWS Proficiency: Deep expertise in core AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM) and experience with serverless, event-driven architectures .
- Automation & Scripting: Strong skills in scripting languages, particularly Python/GO and Bash, for automating tasks and processes .
- Containerization: Solid understanding of container technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Configuration Management: Experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative platforms like GitHub
