Job Description
- CGI is looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to join our technology team
- The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java, Python, AWS, and Angular, and will be responsible for building, modernizing, and supporting scalable APIs and cloud-native applications
- This role requires a proactive mindset, strong ownership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Qualification:Bachelors or masters degree in engineering / computer science
- (B E / BTech / MCA / MTech)
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Build, enhance, and support on-prem Java APIs serving web and mobile front-end applications
- Migrate existing APIs from on-prem environments to containerized workloads on AWSDesign and develop cloud-native and serverless API endpoints on AWS using Python
- Implement and support AWS cloud services with a strong focus on architecture, configuration, monitoring, and observability (CloudWatch, logging, metrics)
- Ensure high-quality code delivery with a quality-first mindset, embedding testing into the development lifecycle
- Develop and execute unit tests, isolation tests, and feature-level automation testsUtilize automation and API testing tools such as Postman
- Support applications with logging and troubleshooting in Unix/Linux environments
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and follow best practices to improve deployment speed and reliability
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, QA, DevOps, and UI teams
- Act as an owner by understanding business requirements and the why behind solutions to drive efficiency and continuous improvement
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Must-Have Skills:7+ years of experience in full stack or backend application development
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring-based APIsHands-on experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience building serverless applications using Python
- Front-end development experience with Angular
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and microservices
- Experience with API automation testing tools (Postman or similar)
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and logging tools
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Good-to-Have Skills:
- Docker, KubernetesInfrastructure as CodeAdvanced monitoring and observability toolsSecurity best practices in cloud applications
