Job Description

  • An ITSM Service Mapping Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive service maps within an organizations IT Service Management (ITSM) framework
  • This role ensures that all IT services and their interdependencies are accurately represented, enabling efficient service management and incident response

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Mapping Design, create, and maintain detailed service maps that illustrate the relationships and dependencies between IT services and infrastructure components
  • Configuration Management Ensure that the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is up-to-date and accurately reflects the current state of the IT environment
  • Collaboration Work closely with IT teams, including service owners, application developers, and infrastructure engineers to gather information and validate service mappings
  • Incident and Problem Management Support incident and problem management processes by providing accurate service maps to help identify root causes and dependencies
  • Continuous Improvement Continuously review and improve service mapping processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Documentation Develop and maintain documentation related to service mapping processes, procedures, and standards
