Manipal Hospitals is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse for the Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) and Postpartum Wing. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities include monitoring maternal and fetal health during labor, assisting with delivery procedures, providing post-delivery care, and educating families on newborn care and breastfeeding. The nurse will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor vital signs and fetal heart activity during labor
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed
- Assist in labor and delivery procedures, including emergencies
- Provide postnatal care to mothers and newborns
- Educate patients and families about postpartum care and newborn care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Support breastfeeding and newborn feeding practices
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals Skills Required:

- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Previous experience in obstetrics or maternal newborn nursing is an advantage
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

You will ensure a safe and supportive environment for mothers and newborns. About the Team:
The LDR & W Wing team at Manipal Hospitals consists of dedicated healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, midwives, and pediatricians who collaborate to provide high-quality maternal and neonatal care. The environment fosters teamwork and continuous learning, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care and excellence in service delivery. You are Responsible for:
- Monitoring the health status of mothers and newborns before, during, and after delivery.
- Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families throughout the childbirth process.
- Collaborating with medical staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Documenting patient information accurately and maintaining up-to-date records.
- Responding to emergencies swiftly and efficiently while adhering to hospital protocols. To succeed in this role you should have the following:
- A valid nursing license and relevant qualifications in obstetric nursing.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge related to labor, delivery, and post-delivery care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and their families.
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest practices in maternal health.
