Position Description We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mainframe Professional with a strong background in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, SAS, and REXX. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in mainframe technologies and possess excellent technical abilities to work directly with client team. This role demands a professional who can effectively contribute individually, lead an agile team, and handle client communications efficiently.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL, JCL, and VSAM/DB2 programs handle VSAM files and DB2 queries Create and modify batch jobs and online (CICS) programs Understand requirements and insure programs meet business and functional requirements Client Communication Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project updates, issues, and deliverables. Communicate clear on status meetings and provide clear, concise reports to clients. Manage client expectations and ensure customer satisfaction. Individual Contribution Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS. Good to have knowledge of DB2, SAS, REXX Perform code reviews and debugging to ensure the quality and performance of applications. Analyze and resolve technical issues promptly. Team Collaboration Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Encourage continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Education Qualification Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience and Relevant certifications in mainframe technologies (preferred). Must-Have Skills Technical Expertise Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2. Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and development practices. Experience with batch processing and online transaction processing (OLTP). Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle client communication professionally and effectively. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams. Problem-Solving Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Required technical stack. Advanced certifications in mainframe technologies or agile methodologies. Work Environment This is completely work from office in client ODC and no remote working available. This role may require work in flexible hours/shifts. Flexibility to work in different time zones to manage offshore teams and client communications Good-to-Have Skills RAXX and any data base technology.
