Job Description
Role Summary
The Wine Sommelier is responsible for curating, managing, and presenting the wine program, delivering exceptional guest experiences through expert wine knowledge, thoughtful pairings, and refined service.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and maintain the wine list, ensuring balance, quality.
- Recommend wine pairings tailored to guest preferences and menu offerings
- Provide knowledgeable, engaging wine service in dining and bar settings
- Manage wine inventory, storage, purchasing, and cost control
- Train and mentor service staff on wine knowledge, service standards, and sales techniques
- Collaborate with chefs and management on menu development and special events
- Conduct wine tastings, staff education sessions, and guest experiences
- Ensure proper wine handling, glassware use, and cellar organization
- Stay current with wine trends, regions, producers, and industry developments.
Qualifications
- Formal wine education (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or equivalent preferred)
- Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a high-end food & beverage role
- Strong knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and production methods
- Excellent communication, sales, and guest service skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.

Work Environment
- Fine dining restaurant / luxury hotel / wine bar (adjust as needed)
