We are looking for a Cloud Software Engineer who will design and build services that connect Zebras cloud platforms to Android Enterprise APIs and Zebra device management frameworks enabling customers to deploy, configure, and secure their devices seamlessly at scale.
Role OverviewAs a member of Zebras Cloud Device Management Engineering team, youll develop backend systems that integrate with Android Enterprise, enabling frictionless provisioning, remote policy enforcement, and telemetry at a global scale.
Youll collaborate closely with Android system engineers, cloud architects, and product teams to build cloud-native services that power Zebras next-generation device lifecycle management and MDM/EMM platforms.
Design and implement cloud microservicesthat integrate with Android Enterprise / EMM APIs, DevicePolicyManager, for device provisioning and policy control.
- Working experience on serverless platform like firebase
- Build and maintain secure APIs and orchestration layers to manage large fleets of Zebra Android devices.
- Develop workflows for device enrollment, compliance reporting, OTA updates, and remote commands.
- Collaborate with Android platform and device firmware teams to align DPC (Device Policy Controller) behavior with cloud orchestration.
- Implement and scale event-driven data pipelines for telemetry ingestion and policy distribution.
- Ensure security, scalability, and observability across multi-tenant cloud deployments (GCP) .
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years' experiencedeveloping scalable cloud backend systems or SaaS services.
preferred 2+ yearshands-on experience with Android Enterprise / EMM APIs such as:
o Android Management API (AMAPI)
o Play EMM API
o Zero-Touch Enrollment API
o DevicePolicyManager and related Android SDK APIs
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript, Java, ReactJS
- Experience with RESTful APIs, OAuth2, JWT, and enterprise authentication mechanisms.
- Solid understanding of containerized microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with EMM or MDM platforms(e.g., Esper, VMware Workspace ONE, SOTI, or Intune).
- Understanding enterprise mobility and Android provisioning workflows at scale.
- Data processing workflows which can handle large amounts of data ingress and processing
- Up-to-date knowledge of cloud computing trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Experience in optimizing cloud costs
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with Zebra Mobility Extensions (MX), OEMConfig, or Android system services.
- Exposure device telemetry, OTA orchestration, or IoT/edge connectivity.
- Good knowledge of using AI tools in SDLC
