Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end to end migration strategy from OCI to GCP including assessment planning execution and post migration optimization
  • Design scalabl secure and cost efficient data architectures on GCP using services such as BigQuery Cloud Storage Dataflow Pub Sub and Vertex AI
  • Analyze existing OCI workloads and recommend equivalent or improved GCP services to reduce cost and improve performance
  • Collaborate with data engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless migration and integration.
  • Implement data governance, security, and compliance controls during and after migration.
  • Develop automation scripts and templates for repeatable migration processes using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
  • Monitor and optimize GCP resource usage to ensure cost effectiveness and performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams involved in the migration.

    • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 6 plus years of experience in cloud architecture and data platform engineering.
  • Proven experience in migrating workloads from OCI to GCP or similar cloud-to-cloud transitions.
  • Deep understanding of GCP services, especially in data and analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies and tools.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy regulations, and compliance standards.

    • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect.
  • Experience with Oracle databases and tools, and their GCP equivalents.
  • Exposure to FinOps practices and cloud cost management platforms.
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud and multi-cloud strategies.
