Sap Bods Consultant @ Tredence

Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• BODS Development: Design, develop, test, and implement complex ETL jobs using SAP BODS (Data Services) to extract data from various source systems (SAP ECC, S/4HANA, non-SAP databases, files).
• ABAP Expertise: Utilize ABAP programming skills to create/enhance custom function modules, BAPIs, and reports necessary for efficient and specific data extraction, especially in ODP/ODQ environments or for maximizing performance of BODS jobs.
• BW/BI Integration: Understand and interact with SAP BW/BI architecture, including DataSources, DSOs, InfoCubes, and Open Hub Destinations, to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
• Data Modeling & Quality: Design efficient data flow architecture and apply data quality rules and transformations within BODS to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize and tune complex BODS jobs and related ABAP code to meet performance and batch window requirements.
• Documentation: Create detailed technical specifications, design documents, test plans, and operational documentation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with functional teams, business analysts, and other technical resources to translate business requirements into technical data integration solutions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience with SAP Information Steward (IS) for data profiling and metadata management.
• Familiarity with Cloud ETL tools or platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, SAP DI).
• Functional knowledge in core SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI/CO).
