Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Configuration Management Specialist, you will support PTCs SaaS operations by delivering core Configuration Management services. Your responsibilities include:
CMDB Data Management- Monitor key metrics to ensure CMDB data accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze error logs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data issues.
- Identify and correct inconsistencies in CMDB records.
- Perform routine activities in accordance with Configuration Management policies and procedures (e.g., review records after deployments or major changes).
- Monitor and manage the Configuration Management incident queue; triage and resolve incidents as needed.
- Collect, analyze, and report operational metrics.
- Identify and report non-compliance issues.
- Support audit activities as directed.
- Proactively identify and recommend service improvement opportunities.
- Execute regular monitoring and audit tasks to maintain CMDB integrity.
- Test new functionality related to process modernization impacting the CMDB.
- Contribute to requirements gathering and documentation.
- Help improve and develop work instructions for Configuration Management processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Understanding of object-oriented and relational data models.
- Familiarity with public cloud infrastructure concepts (Azure and/or AWS).
- Basic knowledge of the ITIL framework, particularly Configuration Management principles.
- Preferred: Experience with basic Linux command-line tools (e.g., SSH, Bash).
- Internship or entry-level experience in the software or IT services industry.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with ServiceNow.
- Preferred: Awareness of PTCs SaaS product portfolio.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a global team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Service-oriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Analytical thinking and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Motivation to learn, grow, and continuously improve.
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
