Job Description
Product design team for selecting and finalizing suitable materials and manufacturing processes for new product developmentValidate design for production by performing feasibility studies, conducting production trials (FPQ, LSP) and preparing relevant supporting documentation
Evaluate the design/ drawing for manufacturing feasibility through the DFM and drawing review checklist
Give critical feedback on part designs aiming to reduce processes, complexity and cost of fabrication
Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
Support decision making of allocation of part manufacturing between in- house and subcontract manufacturing
Document manufacturing information for production of parts with Process document, route cards, BOM as applicable
Identify and evaluate potential failures of critical manufacturing process using tools such as PFMEA
Drive continuous improvement in workflow and processes by applying methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma and process re- engineering to deliver tangible / intangible benefits to the organization
Prepare a repair and rework plan for parts as per quality reports/ test reports
Education
B.E/ B.Tech (Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ Aerospace)
Skills & Experience:
0 - 2 years experience in process/ methods manufacturing engineering in electromechanical/ mechanical/ aerospace manufacturing organizations
Knowledge of various materials (Composites, Foam, Metals, Plastics, Electrical components, Cable Harnesses, etc.)
Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as composite fabrication, metallic machining, wire harnessing etc.
