Job Description
Job Title: MoveIT Engineer Domain: IT Infrastructure / Secure File Transfer Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MoveIT Engineer to manage, configure, and support Ipswitch/MOVEit Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in secure file transmission, automation, and integration with enterprise systems. This role requires close collaboration with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams.Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage file transfer solutions using MOVEit Transfer and MOVEit Automation .
- Configure new file transfer workflows, encryption settings, and user access control in MOVEit.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define secure file transfer requirements.
- Monitor MOVEit servers and scheduled jobs for successful execution and error resolution.
- Maintain documentation for file transfer jobs, workflows, configurations, and dependencies.
- Automate file transfer processes and streamline operational tasks using PowerShell or scripting.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and external security standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
- Troubleshoot issues related to file transfers, performance, access, and connectivity.
- Work with vendors and support teams to manage patches, upgrades, and licensing.
- Provide tier-2/3 support for MOVEit-related incidents and service requests.
- Conduct audits and review logs to ensure file integrity, delivery, and compliance.
- Integrate MOVEit with LDAP, SFTP, FTP/S, HTTP/S, and cloud storage systems.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans for MOVEit infrastructure.
- Participate in security reviews and vulnerability assessments of the MFT environment.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to junior engineers or operational support teams.
- 7+yrs hands-on experience with MOVEit Transfer and Automation (Ipswitch/Progress Software).
- Strong understanding of secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS).
- Experience with file encryption, PGP/GPG , and certificate management.
- Familiarity with Windows Server administration , IIS, firewalls, and networking.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, VBScript, or Python for automation.
- Understanding of data security standards (HIPAA, PCI, SOX).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- MOVEit Administrator Certification (if available).
- Experience in financial, healthcare, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with SIEM, monitoring tools, and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) .
- Experience in cloud-based integrations or hybrid infrastructure setups.
