Job Description
Role SummaryThe Infrastructure Project Manager will provide end-to-end oversight for data center migration initiatives and other enterprise infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for driving execution rigor tracking tasks, risks, dependencies, and milestones while coordinating across multiple technical teams to ensure timely delivery, clear communication, and sustained forward momentum. Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Execution
- Provide overall oversight for data center migration programs and parallel infrastructure initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and track integrated project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure day-to-day execution by closely monitoring task completion and removing blockers.
- Identify, track, and proactively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Drive mitigation plans and escalate critical risks to leadership in a timely manner.
- Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
- Coordinate across multiple technical teams, including:
- Network
- Server / Compute
- Storage
- Database
- Security
- Application teams
- Act as the central point of contact to ensure alignment across workstreams.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including:
- Project plans
- Status reports
- Decision logs
- Change requests
- Prepare and present executive-level status updates highlighting progress, risks, and next steps.
- Facilitate project meetings, including:
- Daily / weekly execution syncs
- Risk & dependency reviews
- Leadership steering committee updates
- Ensure action items are clearly captured, assigned, and tracked to closure.
- Ensure sustained forward momentum by enforcing timelines, accountability, and governance.
- Support change management and transition activities as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
Project Management
- Proven experience managing data center migrations, infrastructure refresh, or large-scale IT transformation projects.
- Strong command of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
- Expertise in task tracking, dependency management, and schedule control.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure domains:
- Data centers
- Networking
- Compute & virtualization
- Storage & backup
- Security
- Ability to engage credibly with technical teams without being hands-on.
- Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Advanced documentation and reporting skills (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational, facilitation, and follow-up discipline.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and drive outcomes in complex environments.
