Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly capable, self-managed Senior Systems & Network Engineer
to design, implement, secure, and maintain modern IT infrastructure across on-
premises and cloud environments. This role is hands-on and requires strong
technical depth across networking, security, Microsoft ecosystems, virtualization, and
endpoint management, with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, and network security
controls
Perform infrastructure work including networking, hardware deployment, and
systems lifecycle management
Design, build, and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory,
and hybrid domain architectures
Implement and manage Single Sign-On (SSO), Azure AD / Entra ID,
Conditional Access, and MFA
Deploy, manage, and secure email systems, including filtering, hybrid email
bridging, and Microsoft 365 migrations
Plan and implement virtual desktop environments (VDI)
Build, configure, deploy, and maintain Remote Monitoring & Management
(RMM) platforms
Design, implement, and test backup, disaster recovery, and business
continuity plans
Implement endpoint security solutions (EDR/XDR) and vulnerability
management practices
Monitor systems, respond to alerts, and proactively remediate risks
Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and scripting where
appropriate
Maintain clear documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures
Manage projects independently from design through deployment and handoff
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong hands-on experience with firewall configuration, VPNs, and network
security
Solid background in networking, infrastructure, and hardware environments
Proven experience setting up and managing Windows domains and Active
Directory
Deep experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID, and hybrid identity
environments
Experience implementing SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access policies
Expertise in email filtering, hybrid email environments, and O365 migrations
Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, or equivalent) and
virtual desktops
Experience building and managing RMM tools and endpoint monitoring
platforms
Strong understanding of backup strategies, data protection, and disaster
recovery
Experience with endpoint protection platforms (Microsoft Defender,
SentinelOne, or similar)
Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, or
similar)
Proficiency with PowerShell and automation scripting
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Highly self-managed with the ability to prioritize and execute without close
supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Managed Services Provider (MSP) or multi-tenant environments
Microsoft certifications (Azure, M365, Windows Server)
Network and security certifications (Fortinet, Cisco, CompTIA
Network+/Security+)
Experience with monitoring, alerting, and change management best
practices
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of network security principles and VPN connectivity to
support remote workers.
In-depth knowledge of network services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and protocols
(OSPF, BGP, SDWAN).
Comprehensive understanding of networking systems, including LANs,
firewalls, routers, and switches.
