Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Delivery Lead to oversee and drive the successful execution of a portfolio of complex technical projects and programs. The Delivery Lead will be instrumental in ensuring that our technical teams consistently deliver high-quality solutions on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. This role demands a strong blend of technical acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to mentor technical project/program managers, optimize delivery processes, and strategically navigate cross-functional dependencies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, an outstanding communicator, and a champion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio Oversight & Strategic Planning:
Lead and manage a portfolio of technical projects and programs , ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and strategic priorities.
Collaborate with senior leadership, product, and engineering teams to define project priorities, resource allocation, and delivery roadmaps for your assigned portfolio.
Identify and proactively address inter-project/program dependencies , ensuring seamless integration and efficient delivery across the portfolio.
Contribute to the strategic planning and definition of technical initiatives, translating high-level goals into actionable delivery plans.
Technical Delivery Excellence:
Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of agile and technical project management methodologies within your delivery teams.
Ensure adherence to established engineering best practices , coding standards, architectural guidelines, and quality assurance processes across all projects.
Provide guidance and technical oversight to project teams, helping them navigate complex technical challenges and make sound architectural decisions.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for delivery, analyzing trends and implementing corrective actions to optimize throughput and quality.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Technical Project Managers (TPMs) , fostering their professional growth and enhancing their delivery capabilities.
Conduct regular performance reviews for TPMs, providing constructive feedback and identifying development opportunities.
Build a collaborative and high-performing delivery culture , promoting knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous learning.
Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new project management talent.
Risk, Issue & Stakeholder Management:
Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks and issues at a program and portfolio level, developing comprehensive mitigation strategies.
Serve as the primary escalation point for critical project blockers and challenges, driving timely resolution and engaging necessary stakeholders.
Cultivate strong relationships with all key stakeholders , including engineering leads, product owners, senior management, and external partners, managing their expectations effectively.
Facilitate transparent and timely communication on project and program status, risks, and achievements to all relevant audiences, including executive leadership.
Process Optimization & Reporting:
Champion initiatives for process improvement within the delivery function, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and predictability.
Ensure consistent and accurate project documentation and reporting standards are maintained across the portfolio.
Prepare and present executive-level reports and dashboards on overall portfolio health, performance, and strategic progress.
Collaborate with finance to monitor program budgets and expenses , ensuring efficient resource utilization.
Must Haves : Should have implemented End to End system from inception to production deployment , Exposure to Gen AI app development
Skills Required:
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or similar.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Architectural Expertise:
- Proficiency in designing scalable and secure systems.
- Experience in API integration, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and distributed systems.
- Project Management:
- Expertise in managing technical projects with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of Agile and hybrid methodologies.
- Problem-Solving:
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and propose effective solutions.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to foresee technical challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in AWS/Azure/GCP Solution Architect, PMP, or Scrum Master are preferred.
