Quality Assurance Engineer @ Grid Dynamics

Essential functions

• Design and implement application and infrastructure performance models for highly scalable, low-latency, and highly available systems.

• Define and execute end-to-end performance testing strategies, including load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.

• Partner with architects and development teams to ensure appropriate performance instrumentation and metrics are embedded within application components.

• Evaluate, develop, and execute performance test tools to validate system limits of critical applications.

• Analyze APIs, integration patterns, and distributed system abstractions to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

• Establish performance baselines, certification criteria, and Go-Live readiness reports.

• Monitor application performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities across CPU, memory, disk, network, OS, and application layers.

• Contribute to capacity planning and disaster recovery exercises.

• Support triaging and troubleshooting of performance degradation incidents in production environments.

• Review application code and recommend performance optimization techniques.

• Document performance test cycles, scripts, methodologies, results, and recommendations.

• Work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s and/or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in performance engineering, performance tuning, analysis, or application development.

• Strong hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments, OS internals, file systems, storage, and networking protocols.

• Working knowledge of virtual machines and containerized environments.

• Expertise with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, or equivalent.

• Experience with APM tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, OPNET, or similar.

• Proficiency in Java and/or Python, along with scripting capabilities.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
