Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with an initial focus on AWS to lead, design, and deliver cloud solutions, expanding these capabilities to Azure environments as part of our multi-cloud strategy. There will be a strong emphasis on automation, DevOps, and cloud-native engineering. This role is central to Archs cloud transformationaccelerating delivery, improving resilience, and driving modernization across the enterprise. The ideal candidate is an expert in AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD engineering, and modern runtime platforms. Experience with Azure, Kong API Gateway, Boomi Integration, ArgoCD, Harness, and container platforms (EKS/AKS) is highly desirable. This position plays a key role in engineering cloud platforms aligned to the Well-Architected Framework, improving automation practices, and enabling application delivery teams to adopt modern infrastructure patterns at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead AWS and potentially Azure cloud engineering efforts, including design, deployment and operations of missioncritical cloud services.
- Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Terragrunt, and automation pipelines.
- Engineer and operationalize modern platform components such as Kong API Gateway, Boomi integrations, ArgoCD GitOps deployments, and Harness CI/CD orchestrations.
- Create and maintain Helm charts and Kustomize releases for Kubernetes workloads deployed via ArgoCD
- Architect and deploy container-based workloads using EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, and serverless AWS services.
- Drive enterprise modernization initiatives across networking, security, and compute services.
- Develop automation patterns that reduce manual effort, improve deployment velocity, and increase service reliability.
- Partner with architecture and DevOps teams to define cloud engineering standards, cloud landing zone improvements, guardrails, and governance through automation.
- Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, and resiliency engineering for AWS platforms.
- Prototype and evaluate emerging cloud technologies to accelerate adoption across engineering teams.
- Contribute to cloud security engineering including IAM, KMS, secrets management, network segmentation, and zero-trust patterns.
- Document reference architectures, patterns, deployment guides, and engineering standards.
Knowledge and Skills
- Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services across compute, networking, IAM, storage, load balancing, monitoring, and security.
- Strong proficiency with Terraform, Terragrunt, GitHub, YAML, Python, Bash, and automation frameworks.
- Advanced experience with Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, and container orchestration.
- Strong experience with Kong API Gateway engineering and operations.
- Experience building and maintaining Boomi integrations in hybrid environments.
- Experience implementing GitOps workflows with ArgoCD and CI/CD orchestrations.
- Proven ability to design and engineer highly resilient, highly available infrastructure at scale.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational toolsets.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and drive cloud engineering best practices across teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with urgency, ownership, and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- 712+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, and automation roles.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a technical and non-technical audience.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery best practices including planning and testing.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional) is preferred.
- Experience working in global, hybrid onshore/offshore engineering environments.
