Job Description
As a Senior Consultant within the Oracle Financial Services Consulting team, you will contribute your technical expertise to development, implementation, and managed service streams for Oracles next-generation banking products. Operating independently with guidance as needed, you will deliver high-quality solutions in line with Oracle's methodologies, ensuring client requirements and compliance standards are met. This is an opportunity to deepen your technical skills in core banking platforms and directly engage with leading financial sector clients across Europe.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a senior technical team member in development, implementation, or managed service activities, including migration, integration, and testing support.
- Analyze, design, and implement solutions tailored to complex business requirements within banking environments.
- Develop, test, and deliver programs according to specifications and timelines, ensuring code quality and compliance.
- Apply defined standards, tools, and processes to meet Oracle and client quality expectations.
- Document all development and implementation work following agreed standards and processes.
- Adhere to Oracle/client change control, audit, and compliance procedures.
- Facilitate seamless handover and knowledge transfer at the close of each engagement.
- Provide timely status updates, expense, and timesheet submissions.
- Engage effectively with clients, presenting solutions and collaborating with multi-location Oracle teams.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 3-7 years relevant experience, including at least 2 years specializing in development, implementation, and/or support of core banking applications.
- Proficiency in Core Java, J2EE, Microservices architectures, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and XML.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle FLEXCUBE or similar core banking platforms.
- Competency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Database (12c/18c).
- Exposure to software deployment and troubleshooting on application servers, especially Oracle WebLogic.
- Working knowledge of release management and source control tools.
- Strong analytical, client-facing, communication, and documentation skills in English.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of banking terminologies and concepts.
- Willingness to work offshore and travel to client locations as needed.
- Commitment to obtaining Oracle Banking/FLEXCUBE technical certifications as required.
- Experience with software development processes, DevOps, or testing tools.
- Familiarity with Oracle OBIEE Reports, BI Publisher, and middleware technologies (e.g., Oracle Fusion SOA Suite).
- Awareness of latest technology trends in banking.
- Background in the banking domain.
- Collaborative team player with adaptability in fast-paced environments.
- Can you describe your hands-on experience developing or implementing core banking applications, particularly with Oracle FLEXCUBE or similar products?
- How have you utilized Java, J2EE, Microservices, and related technologies in previous development or integration projects?
- Are you comfortable troubleshooting application issues on Oracle WebLogic and performing deployments in client environments?
- Can you share examples of how you have documented technical solutions and managed change control while adhering to compliance procedures?
- Are you willing and able to travel to client sites and pursue technical certifications as required by Oracle?
Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.
