As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR
  • PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our team working on video surveillance solutions deployed on edge devices. The role focuses on manual testing of video analytics, streaming, and system performance to ensure reliability and quality in real-world scenarios. You will collaborate with development and integration teams to validate features and deliver robust solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases for video surveillance applications on edge platforms.
  • Perform manual functional, integration, and system-level testing across diverse hardware and software configurations.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, work closely with development teams for resolution.
  • Validate video streaming quality, latency, and analytics accuracy under varying network and environmental conditions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and timely delivery.
  • Analyze test results, identify gaps, and recommend improvements in processes and tools.
Note
While the current focus is on manual testing, there may be opportunities to contribute to test automation initiatives in the future.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manual testing, preferably in video surveillance or multimedia systems.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems, networking concepts, and debugging tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Linux commands and familiarity with python.
Preferred Skills
  • Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
  • Ability to perform stress, load, and endurance testing manually and via automation scripts.
  • Understanding of video streaming protocols (RTSP, RTP) and edge device solutions.
