Job Description
For a complex and extremely widely used product like Oracle Database, it is a serious but fun filled challenge to foresee customer expectations, simulate real life problems, develop tests, test infrastructure/frameworks to ensure that customers get the highest quality database.At the Database test development group, head quartered at the U.S. (and expanding in Bangalore), engineers from top tier schools are facing this challenge every day.
- B.Tech/M.Tech. in C.S. from a premier institution
- Sound knowledge of Oracle Exadata, Database Architecture and life cycle operations.
- Design and development of test frameworks and tools for Database functional areas such as Oracle Data Guard, Active Data Guard, RMAN, CDB/PDB, Database Patching.
- Debugging Database failures using trace files and alert logs.
- At least 6+ years of working experience on Linux/Unix based systems
- Excellent coding skills using technologies such as Python, C++ / JAVA, PL/SQL, REST API, cloud technologies, and AI coding tools.
- Good experience in Perl, shell or a similar scripting language.
- Excellent problem solving skills using data structures and algorithms.
- Experience/Exposure to product testing
- Experience with Oracle or any high end relational databases as application developer (server side) is desirable
- Experience as Oracle DBA is desirable
- Exposure to latest (11gR1/11gR2/12cR1/18c/19c) Oracle database features is desirable
- Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies, adeptness in seeking solutions to complex problems.
- Experience in Cloud Technologies would add value
As a member of Oracle Database test development team, you will gain in-depth experience of various database cloud service offerings such as Autonomous Database Public Cloud Service and Cl**d@Cu*****r, Exadata Cloud Service, Exadata Cl**d@Cu*****r, Database VMDB Cloud service as well as Oracle database features such as multi-tenant, In-Memory Database, Active Data Guard, True Cache, PDB Level Data Guard, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, JSON, JSON Duality, Data Vault, Auditing, and Encryption over Oracle Cloud and multi-cloud environments such as Oracle DB on Azure and GCP. You will work with highly motivated and enthusiastic engineers who have in-depth database administration and data centre level end-to-end work flow experience and develop test frameworks and tools to test Oracle Database Cloud from all aspects, Provisioning, Migration, Life Cycle Management, Networking, and Security. You will also get opportunity to have customer interaction and engagement.
