Role Overview
Capgemini is looking for a skilled Core Oracle DBA to manage, support, and optimize Oracle database environments for enterprise and global clients. The role involves database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and ensuring high availability and security of Oracle systems in production and non-production environments.
This position is open to PwD candidates, and Capgemini is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and administer Oracle Databases (11g/12c/19c)
Perform database upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities
Manage backup and recovery using RMAN
Monitor database performance and conduct tuning using AWR, ADDM, and SQL tuning
Handle database security, user management, and access controls
Perform routine health checks and capacity planning
Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis
Support production, UAT, and development environments
Work closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams
Maintain documentation and adhere to Capgemini delivery and compliance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
48 years of hands-on experience as a Core Oracle DBA
Strong experience in:
Oracle Database Administration
Backup & Recovery (RMAN)
Performance Tuning
Database Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Experience supporting mission-critical production environments
Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
Ability to work independently and within global delivery teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and documentation skills
Good to Have
Experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard
Exposure to cloud databases (OCI / AWS / Azure Oracle DB)
ITIL process awareness (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
Oracle DBA Certification
Experience working in 24x7 support or shift-based environments
