Job Description :
Review proofs (typeset PDFs and Word files) for typographical, grammatical,
punctuation, and formatting errors.
- Check for consistency in headings, captions, numbering, font usage, and page
layout.
- Verify placement of figures, tables, and illustrations with corresponding callouts.
- Cross-check corrections from previous proofing rounds have been incorporated.
- Ensure consistency in style and tone according to house or journal style guides
(e.g., Chicago, APA, MLA, AMA, OXCOLA).
- Highlight and query unclear or questionable content or layout issues.
- Mark corrections clearly using markup tools such as PDF annotations, Track
Changes, or proofreading symbols.
- Collaborate with copyeditors, designers, typesetters, and project managers to
ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Maintain version control and follow project tracking systems.
