Job Description
Designation - Automation Test Engineer
Location - Pune
Type - On site, Full Time
Job Summary-
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Automation Test Engineer with an experience in both manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java-based test automation, a solid grasp of manual testing processes, and the ability to ensure the highest quality standards across web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
Key Responsibilities-
- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and reusable scripts.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, smoke, and exploratory tests (manual and automated).
- Write clear and comprehensive test cases and test scenarios based on requirements.
- Conduct UI, API, backend, and mobile testing.
- Perform root cause analysis and assist in defect resolution.
- Validate application performance, usability, and data integrity.
- Collaborate with developers, BAs, and QA team to define and improve test strategies and acceptance criteria.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Keep current with evolving testing tools and practices.
- Good understanding of manual testing techniques, defect lifecycle, and test documentation (test plans, test cases, and traceability).
- Hands-on experience with REST API testing, Postman, and backend validation.
- Familiarity with SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
- Exposure to version control tools (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Java, with experience in Selenium, Appium, TestNG, RestAssured.
Nice to Have-
- Mobile application testing experience (manual + automation).
- Exposure to testing in containerized/cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with cross-browser and cross-platform testing tools.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality.
