Job Description
As a Software Development Engineer II, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software consistently while solving difficult technical problems. You will own project delivery end-to-end, including writing detailed solution designs and getting them reviewed through the established review process. You will need to be self-sufficient in delivering technical features that address real business needs while engaging with necessary customers, stakeholders and peers. The position involves creating flexible software without over-engineering, making appropriate trade-offs, and being judicious about introducing dependencies. You will actively participate in code reviews, design discussions, team planning. You will be expected to train new team members on software construction, operation, security, and how it fits into the bigger picture. The role requires maintaining high software quality standards and improving teams engineering and operational excellence practices. Design and develop software features for the Just Walk Out technology platform, solving complex problems while making appropriate technical trade-offs that balance short and long-term needs
Deliver high-quality code through the full software lifecycle including scoping, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support
Provide meaningful feedback during code reviews and participate actively in design discussions and team planning meetings
Document software functionality, construction, testing procedures, security protocols, and operational processes to facilitate knowledge sharing
Train new team members on software construction, operation, and system architecture while continuously improving the teams engineering and operational excellence practices A day in the life
Your day begins with a team stand-up where you align on priorities and discuss ongoing projects. Youll spend time coding new features for the Just Walk Out platform, conducting thorough code reviews for teammates, and collaborating on system design decisions. Throughout the day, youll analyze performance metrics, troubleshoot operational issues, and work on improving system reliability. Youll also participate in technical discussions with cross-functional teams to ensure your solutions integrate seamlessly with the broader ecosystem About the team

This spans across various domains such as Order Management, in-store pricing intelligence, shopper receipts and refunds, and the merchant experience capabilities that allow merchants to seamlessly integrate with Amazon to power their stores with Just Walk out technology. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
3+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
