Job Description

The Information security Architect should have:Specializes in cloud security, primarily AWS, working consultatively with the Information Security department and Cloud Engineering teams.AWS security experience including Identity and Access Management (IAM roles, policies, federation), network security (VPCs, security groups, NACLs, VPC Flow Logs), data protection (KMS encryption, S3 bucket policies), security monitoring services (GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail), authentication services (Cognito), application protection (AWS WAF), secure access (Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, Certificate Manager).Ability to drive proof of concepts of existing or new services on AWS or Azure as business needs arise.Ability to drive architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.Provide strategic thought leadership on enterprise cloud security posture, with a focus on leveraging emerging AI technologies and addressing the evolving risk associated with widespread AI adoption.The role involves developing reference architectures for AWS security services, making recommendations on security processes and configurations, and building cross-functional relationships - this is advisory work with minimal hands-on implementation, requiring someone who can translate security requirements into clear architectural guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Use appropriate design techniques and methodologies to perform proof of concepts & showcase outcomes to senior leadership & all stakeholders & convince them with relevant rationale.
Develop current and future state architecture roadmaps.
Align and promote enterprise technology principles and strategy.
Contribute to and author application and capability strategies.
Establish, maintain and apply architecture standards, disciplines and principles.
Design external system interface architecture that includes appropriate application of techniques and standards.
Determine integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, security and business/functional requirements.
Maintain deep expertise in architectural modeling, frameworks, emerging technologies, and best practices. Mentor and develop less experienced technical staff. Provide technical leadership in both business-as-usual and crisis conditions.
Recommend new procedures and processes to drive desired results on diverse projects.
Perform industry research with external parties and maintain networks amongst peers.
Partner with other architects & application development teams to ensure alignment and integration across portfolio boundaries and promote an enterprise focus on applications management. Develop and build strong relationships within and across the lines of business and use effective communication skills to influence and accomplish strategic application architecture objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; or related work experience.
  • 9-14 years of relevant experience required.
  • Rich hands-on engineering experience on AWS cloud services like Identity and Access Management, network security, data protection and security monitoring services with exposure to cloud delivery in past.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise-wide architecture and ability to 'see the big picture' and how it affects current and future technologies.
  • Internal/External consulting experience that spans organizational boundaries and includes influencing technology and business leaders.
  • Experience in the architecture, design, implementation and support of complex enterprise solutions.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to explain highly technical solutions to technical and non-technical teams.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills to be able to break down complex problems and design appropriate solutions, leveraging industry patterns where applicable.
