Job Description
Social Safeguard Specialist: for SH Project- He/she shall possess Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Social Sciences/Sociology/Anthropology development studies or a related discipline from a recognized educational institution. Candidate whose CV demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development will be preferred.
- The candidate should have about 15 years of post graduate experience.
- He should show 5 years experience in the implementation/ supervision of Social safeguards management plan in road and highway projects of a size similar to those proposed under this Project.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in hilly terrain.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant operational experience and proven track record in working on projects covering a broad range of resettlement and social development issues. Experience of implementation of management strategies and implementation plans (MSIP) to manage ESHS risks (Environmental and Social Management Plan- ESMP).
- Good understanding of the World Bank's operational policies, processes and procedures including its safeguard policies.
- Experience gained in administering either FIDIC or international recognized contract documents is required.
- He should be able to communicate fluently in English and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
- He should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills required to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Client, contractors and other stakeholders.
- The position will require extensive travel over rough terrain so that preferred age range is from 40-55 years old.
