Job Description
Position: English Tutor
Grade Levels: K-8 (Elementary to Middle School)
Subjects: English Language Arts (ELA), Reading, Writing
Work Type: Remote | 1:1 Online Tutoring US Students
Work Schedule (India Standard Time)
- Sunday: 8:30 PM to 5:30 AM
- Monday to Thursday: 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Role Overview
We are seeking highly skilled and passionate English Tutors to conduct live online one-on-one tutoring sessions for students in the United States. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the US Common Core Curriculum, proven experience teaching phonics and literacy skills, and the ability to effectively engage and motivate young learners in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct online, 1:1 ELA tutoring sessions aligned with the US Common Core Curriculum.
- Teach and reinforce phonics skills for early and developing readers.
- Support students in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and overall language development.
- Customize teaching methods based on individual learning styles and academic needs.
- Monitor and record student performance, attendance, and session feedback accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated English proficiency (equivalent to IELTS 7.5 / TOEFL iBT 100 or higher).
- Completion of all required training programs prior to onboarding.
Experience & Technical Requirements
- 36 years of teaching or tutoring experience is mandatory.
- Prior experience teaching the Common Core Curriculum is required.
- Hands-on experience teaching phonics, especially to early-grade learners.
- Strong communication, patience, and student engagement skills.
- Must own a laptop with an i5/i7 processor, reliable Wi-Fi, and power backup.
