Role & responsibilities
Job Title
Security Officer Reliever (ServiceNow Enabled)
Job Summary
The Security Officer (Reliever Mode) is responsible for providing security coverage across multiple sites or shifts as required. The role ensures safety, access control, and incident response while accurately logging and managing security-related activities using ServiceNow.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations
- Provide relief coverage for absent or off-duty security personnel across assigned locations
- Monitor premises to prevent theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, or safety hazards
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and restricted areas
- Enforce company security policies, procedures, and site-specific rules
Incident & Access Management (ServiceNow)
- Log security incidents, safety issues, and observations in ServiceNow
- Create, update, and close ServiceNow tickets related to:
- Security incidents
- Access control issues
- Lost and found items
- Visitor or employee safety concerns
- Track incident status and ensure timely escalation when required
Access Control & Visitor Management
- Verify employee, contractor, and visitor credentials
- Manage entry/exit logs and visitor records
- Report access violations or suspicious activity through ServiceNow
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents
- Assist during evacuations, drills, or medical emergencies
- Coordinate with local authorities or emergency responders when necessary
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare shift handover notes and daily security reports
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, facility teams, and IT/security teams
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with audit requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (security certification preferred)
- Prior experience as a security officer or in a similar role
- Basic knowledge of ServiceNow or other incident management systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong observation, communication, and reporting skills
- Basic computer literacy
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in reliever or multi-site security roles
- Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems
- Understanding of ITSM or incident management workflows
Work Mode
- Reliever / On-call / Rotational shifts
- Multi-location coverage as required
