Role: Storage and Backup Administration

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide L2 and L3 operational support for storage & backup systems. Perform installation, configuration, provisioning, and administration of RAID arrays, SAN/NAS storage systems.

• Manage storage allocation, zoning, masking, replication, and migrations.
• Implement and manage data protection, snapshots, replication, DR solutions, and Backup integration.
• Provide maintenance and support for storage fiber switches, including applying OEM recommended patches.
• Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and upgrading backup software and hardware appliances to support enterprise data protection and recovery strategies.
• Proactively monitor storage infrastructure performance and capacity, ensuring optimal utilization.
• Administer backup operations to ensure compliance with agreed RTOs and RPOs, enabling reliable and timely data restoration.
• Good experience on Backups on multi-OS platforms Unix, Linux, AIX, Windows, VMware, Nutanix, HCI Systems,
• Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and storage system health checks.
• Maintain and update documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.

Participate in on-call support rotation and provide RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for critical incidents.

Continuously monitor backups & Storage arrays and prepare regular reports highlighting trends, risks and improvements.

Must have skills:

6-10+ years of experience in enterprise storage & backup administration.

Experience with Dell NAS and Block Storage & Pure Storage platforms. Strong knowledge of SAN/NAS protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS).

Experience with backup solutions: Avamar, Cohesity, Data Domain and Dell Networker.

Experience in Avamar to Cohesity migration.

Experience with Brocade/Cisco SAN switches (zoning, fabric management).

Proficiency in storage replication technologies (SRDF, RecoverPoint, MirrorView, etc.).
