Job Description


Responsibilities

Project Initiation & Design

  • Lead civil engineering scope for manufacturing projects.
  • Develop concept notes, project justifications, site layouts, and preliminary designs.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering capital and operational expenses.
  • Review engineering deliverables and drive corrections aligned with industry requirements.
  • Utilize tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and advanced MS Office applications.

Approvals & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure statutory and regulatory approvals across all project phases.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, OEMs, and internal teams for seamless site activity.
  • Support consultant evaluation, create CERs, and perform vendor technical assessments.

Planning & Risk Governance

  • Prepare URS, RDS, technical specifications, layouts, and engineering drawings.
  • Lead crossfunctional risk assessments with safety and user teams.
  • Build project schedules with key milestones and manage CER submission workflows.

Execution & Monitoring

  • Drive procurement followups to ensure timely material availability.
  • Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities to meet project timelines.
  • Track project performance for cost, time, and quality, enforcing all safety and QA/QC standards.
  • Participate in FAT/SAT activities per documented requirements.

Communication & Documentation

  • Deliver timely project updates to site leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct daily coordination meetings with contractors for task allocation.
  • Ensure completion of GMPcompliant documentation and formal handover to user departments.
  • Identify critical spares and support inventory planning.

Key Interactions

Internal: Safety, Site/Unit Heads, Procurement (Indirect & Central), User Departments
External: OEMs, architects, consultants, vendors

Success Measures

  • Ontime, onbudget, and highquality project delivery
  • Smooth transition across project phases
  • Crosssite engineering coordination and compliance with audit requirements

Decision Scope

Decisions: Vendor selection, adoption of new civil technologies
Recommendations: Project budget inputs, consultant selection, vendor onboarding approvals

Qualifications

  • BE in Civil Engineering with 1215 years of relevant experience; MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction technologies, CAPEX/OPEX processes, project planning, and manufacturing site requirements.
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations for pharmaceutical facilities (USFDA, TGA, WHO, etc.).
