Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Playwright Automation Engineer with strong TypeScript/JavaScript expertise to build, maintain, and scale end-to-end automation test suites for our modern web platforms. You will work closely with Product, Dev, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth releases, high-quality delivery, and better user experience across browsers and devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & develop Playwright automation frameworks using TypeScript (POM, data-driven, modular utilities).
- Build and maintain E2E, regression, smoke, and functional test suites.
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins / Azure).
- Perform cross-browser automation (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit) and device emulation.
- Develop API test suites (REST/GraphQL) using Playwright or external libraries.
- Optimize test execution through parallel runs, headless mode, and flaky test reduction.
- Manage test data (fixtures, mocks, stubs) for clean and stable test environments.
- Collaborate with developers for testability hooks, debugging, and improvements.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor juniors, and contribute to QA best practices.
Mandatory Skills
- 5+ years hands-on automation using Playwright (or Cypress)
- 7+ years in TypeScript / JavaScript development
- Strong in OOP, async/await, promises
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch (POM)
- API testing experience (Playwright, SuperTest, Axios etc.)
- CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Git (branches, PRs, versioning best practices)
- Strong knowledge of test automation best practices, test pyramid, TDD/BDD
- Experience with Jest/Mocha/Chai or similar test runners
Good to Have (Added Advantage)
- SQL / Oracle knowledge
- Experience with ExtJS
- Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Tools: Octane, SQL Developer, Putty

- Ability to work in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments
