Gateway / IOT / Bluetooth Communication Developer @ Royal Cyber

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in IoT systems, Bluetooth device communication, gateway development, and networking protocols. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize reliable, scalable, and secure IoT solutions that bridge edge devices and cloud platforms. You will play a key role in architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across hardware, firmware, and cloud teams. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain IoT applications and services for connected devices and gateway platforms Implement and optimize Bluetooth (BLE / Classic) communication including device discovery, pairing, provisioning, and data exchange Develop software for IoT gateway devices (Linux-based or embedded systems) to manage device connectivity and data aggregation Implement and support IoT protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets, TCP/IP, and UDP Integrate edge devices with cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, GCP IoT, or equivalent) Ensure security best practices including authentication, encryption, certificate management, and secure firmware updates Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability in constrained environments Collaborate with firmware, hardware, mobile, and cloud teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to connectivity, latency, and data integrity Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical documentation Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field 6+ years of professional software development experience with IoT systems Strong hands-on experience with Bluetooth / BLE protocols (GATT, GAP, profiles, pairing, bonding) Experience developing software for IoT gateways or edge devices (Linux, Embedded Linux, RTOS) Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (MQTT, CoAP, TCP/IP, HTTP, UDP) Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C / C++, Python, Java, Go, or Node.js Experience with device-to-cloud communication and data pipelines Familiarity with OTA updates, device lifecycle management, and remote monitoring Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT) Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and edge orchestration Experience with Bluetooth certification or interoperability testing Exposure to Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread, LoRaWAN, or cellular IoT (LTE-M, NB-IoT) Experience with DevOps / CI-CD pipelines for IoT deployments Understanding of industrial IoT (IIoT) or consumer IoT products
