Development Lead - Interior Lighting @ Alten

Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• Lead and manage design of interior components (Ambient light, Task lights, OHC, etc.).
  
• Conduct design reviews with Global Technical Centre team.
  
• Manage packaging, manufacturing, and assembly feasibility studies.
  
• Review and approve technical data sheets, DVP&R, DVPR/DFMEA.
  
• Finalize CAD data before Step releases and perform packaging & clearance studies.
  
• Coordinate with IL simulation team to ensure lighting targets and functional requirements are met.
  
• Manage supplier interactions, PLM activities, development coordination, and CFT approvals.
  
• Review light simulation results and suggest design improvements (light performance, reflection, homogeniety).
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
  
• 8 - 12 years in automotive lighting component design & development.
  
• Experience in component & system-level design; managing electronics development for lighting.
  
• Expertise in UG or CATIA modeling, surfacing, and Enovia.
  
• Knowledge of injection molding, manufacturing, and assembly feasibility.
  
• Exposure to international Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
  
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
  
• Desirable: Optics design knowledge and manufacturing processes for lighting components.
