Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Manual Testing
- Requirement Validation: Ensure that all user requirements are accurately captured and met.
- Usability Testing: Evaluate the user interface and user experience to ensure the tool is intuitive and user-friendly.
- Exploratory Testing: Identify defects that are not covered by automated tests through exploratory testing.
- Test Case Development: Develop detailed test cases and scenarios based on functional and non-functional requirements.
Automated Testing
- Unit Testing: Automate unit tests to validate individual components and ensure they function as intended.
- Integration Testing: Automate integration tests to ensure that different modules of the PMO tool work seamlessly together.
- Regression Testing: Implement automated regression tests to quickly identify any defects introduced by new changes.
- Performance Testing: Automate performance tests to ensure the tool can handle expected loads and perform efficiently.
General Responsibilities
- Test Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and strategies.
- Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective testing.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously refine and optimize testing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on testing progress, defect status, and overall quality metrics.
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for web applications (Angular/React) and backend services (NestJS/Node.js, Python).
- Build and maintain automated test suites using tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
- Perform API testing using Postman, pytest, or equivalent frameworks; validate data integrity and security.
- Conduct load and performance testing using tools like Locust, JMeter, or similar; analyze results and recommend optimizations.
- Identity, document, and track bugs; communicate findings clearly to development teams.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and advocate for quality.
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Continuously improve test coverage, processes, and QA best practices.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven experience in manual and automated testing of web applications.
- Experience with testing frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Jest, Vite, Selenium or similar.
- Familiarity with Angular, React, NestJS, Python, and MS SQL.
- Experience in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Proficiency in using test management and defect tracking tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus
