Job Description

1. Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead and oversee execution of government / PSU construction projects from mobilization to handover.
  • Prepare and monitor project execution plans, schedules, and milestones.
  • Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines, scope, and budgets.
  • Review and approve method statements, work programs, and construction strategies.

2. Contract & Compliance Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to contract conditions, BOQs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with Government departments, consultants, and client engineers.
  • Handle variation orders, extra items, claims, and extensions of time (EOT).
  • Ensure compliance with CPWD / State PWD / PSU norms, labour laws, and statutory requirements.

3. Financial & Cost Control

  • Monitor project budgets, cost controls, and cash flow.
  • Review project billing, RA bills, final bills, and certifications.
  • Optimize resource utilization to minimize cost overruns.
  • Coordinate with Accounts for timely billing, collections, and vendor payments.

4. Quality Assurance & Safety

  • Ensure implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) as per contract.
  • Enforce safety policies and statutory safety norms at all project sites.
  • Conduct regular quality audits, safety inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and government safety regulations.

5. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Engineers, Planning, QS, and Site teams.
  • Ensure effective coordination among Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Accounts, and Admin teams.
  • Conduct periodic review meetings and performance evaluations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, discipline, and high performance.

6. Stakeholder & Government Liaison

  • Act as the primary interface with Government officials, consultants, and inspection agencies.
  • Represent the organization in review meetings, inspections, and audits.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports, approvals, and statutory documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local authorities and client representatives.

7. Risk Management & Reporting

  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure timely resolution of site issues, disputes, and contractual challenges.
  • Submit weekly, monthly, and milestone progress reports to management.
  • Track KPIs related to schedule, cost, quality, and safety.
