Title: Product owner (with payment industry experience)
Job Description: A payment gateway product owner is responsible for defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a payment gateway, translating business needs into actionable user stories and requirements for the development team, and managing the product backlog. They work with cross-functional teams to ensure the product aligns with business goals and is successfully delivered, focusing on areas like payment experience, integration, and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
Vision and strategy: Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning them with business goals.
Backlog management: Own and prioritize the product backlog, translating high-level ideas into detailed user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for the development team.
Requirements and documentation: Gather requirements from stakeholders and ensure product documentation is up-to-date.
Agile leadership: Lead agile development teams, provide direction, and actively participate in release planning and delivery.
Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, design, sales, marketing) and external stakeholders, including third-party vendors and customers, to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
Product delivery: Oversee the end-to-end release process, including release plans, backlogs, and release notes.
Compliance and experience: Ensure regulatory compliance and work to enhance the customer payment experience and enable integrations. Required skills and experience
Experience: Typically requires several years of experience in product management, with specific experience in digital payments, fintech, or payment integration roles.
Product ownership: Proficiency in agile methodologies and experience with product backlog management, including prioritizing and elaborating on user stories.
Technical and business acumen: Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and understand both functional and non-functional requirements like performance.
Communication: Strong skills in articulating business ideas and providing vision and direction to development teams and stakeholders.
Domain knowledge: Exposure to payment gateway concepts, including payment workflows and integrations.
