Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Preferred candidate profile

710 years in database engineering; 5+ years hands-on with PostgreSQL in production.
Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals: planner/optimizer, VACUUM/ANALYZE, WAL/Checkpoints, locking, MVCC.
Proven experience designing for high availability (streaming replication, failover orchestration such as Patroni, Pgpool-II, or cloud-native HA).
Strong performance tuning skills: query plans, index design, partitioning, memory/I/O parameters, bloat control.
Expertise in backup/restore, point-in-time recovery (PITR), and DR playbooks.
Solid SQL and PL/pgSQL; proficiency with migration tools (Flyway/Liquibase).
Experience with Linux administration for DB nodes (filesystems, storage, kernel params).
Hands-on with monitoring/observability (pg_stat_statements, auto_explain, Prometheus/Grafana, or equivalent).
Security fundamentals: TLS, role management, row-level security, audit logging, and compliance best practices.
Familiarity with CI/CD for database changes, Git workflows, and automation scripting (Bash/Python).
