Job Description:

Title : Java Architect/Lead with Mainframe

Resources to be part of the professional services to implement mainframe modernization solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discussions with the client and the offshore resources
• Participate in project solutioning and planning discussions
• Deploy and configure modernization solutions in customer environments (on-prem/cloud)
• Lead COBOL-to-Java conversion, troubleshoot transformation issues, and implement performance improvements
• Collaborate with customer stakeholders as needed during course of project delivery
• Parse through COBOL, Assembler code to understand flow/business rules
• Perform functional, regression, and performance validation
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, support production transitions
• Manage timelines and deliverables to meet project SLAs

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong Mainframe/COBOL/Assembler knowledge - architect level
• Experience in Mainframe modernization, implementation, or solution delivery
• Strong Java expertise (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, REST APIs)
• Good understanding of distributed architecture
• Hands-on experience with code conversion, debugging, and production deployment
• Familiarity with DevOps (CI/CD, cloud environments)
• Good communication and customer-facing skills
• Mainframe knowledge (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, GDGs, batch) required
• 10+ years of industry experience
