Role Senior Power BI Analyst (DBT)

Location Anywhere in India (Remote)

Experience 7 to 12 Years


About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Analyst (DBT) who can transform data into insightful and visually appealing dashboards and reports that drive business decisions. The ideal candidate is skilled at understanding business requirements, working with data models, and communicating insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1) Data Analysis & Visualization

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Translate business requirements into well-structured visual analytics solutions.
  • Create meaningful KPIs, metrics, and visualizations that tell a clear story.
  • Optimize dashboards for performance and user experience.

2) Data Modeling & Preparation

  • Connect Power BI to various data sources (SQL databases, Excel, APIs, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain data models, relationships, and DAX calculations.
  • Work closely with data engineers to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Apply best practices for Power BI data modeling, including use of star schema and measures.

3) Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with business teams to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
  • Document dashboards, datasets, and KPIs for easy understanding and reuse.
  • Provide training and support to end users on using Power BI reports.

4) Governance & Maintenance

  • Manage access, refresh schedules, and workspace settings in Power BI Service.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with company policies.
  • Continuously monitor and improve report performance.

Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills Needed:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Familiarity with data integration tools (DBT, Azure Data Factory, etc.) is a MUST.
  • Strong command of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M language).
  • Hands-on experience or exposure to Data Modeling (Data Building Tools) and SQL.
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices and user experience design.
  • Understanding of data governance, security roles, and Power BI administration.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, Looker).
  • Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics.
  • Good to have any Power BI certification or equivalent (not mandatory).
