Job Description
The Security Engineer is responsible for the execution of the enterprise security program operations, including project delivery, tool configuration & management, investigations, and performance metrics. This individual will work with security leadership and managed services personnel to monitor and instill trust in the security and reliability of AHEAD systems, services and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and administer security applications and infrastructure to support company policies and standards.
- Plan and conduct security assessments of all layers of the technology program including networking, servers, operating systems, databases and applications.
- Work closely with Management, Operations, Infrastructure and Applications teams to establish processes, procedures and documentation that ensure systems and resources meet necessary compliance requirements and obligations.
- Develops and executes metrics and KPIs for security technologies.
Skills Required
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years of experience in Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, or a senior-level Systems Engineering role.
- One or more security certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, SSCP, CCSP are required.
- Demonstrated experience with the use and deployment of two or more security tools and technologies such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), file integrity monitoring, endpoint protection and hardening, identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability management, or data loss prevention (DLP).
- Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and incident response best practices.
- Experience with SaaS and Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) security is highly desirable.
- Solid knowledge of operating systems, networks, and cloud environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to work independently.
