SAP FICO Lead Job Description (Chartered Accountant Profile with GST Implementation) Job Title: SAP FICO Lead Consultant
Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in SAP FICO, with at least 2-3 end-to-end implementation projects, including a specific focus on GST implementation. Role & Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of SAP FICO solutions, managing project timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
- Business Process Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders, particularly the finance and accounts teams, to gather requirements, analyze existing processes ("as-is"), identify gaps, and design "to-be" processes and business blueprints.
- SAP FICO Configuration: Design, configure, and customize core SAP FICO modules, including General Ledger (FI-GL), Accounts Payable (FI-AP), Accounts Receivable (FI-AR), Asset Accounting (FI-AA), Cost Center Accounting (CO-CCA), Profit Center Accounting (CO-PCA), Product Costing (CO-PC), and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
- GST Implementation & Compliance:
- Lead the configuration of taxation requirements within SAP, specifically Indian Goods and Services Tax (GST).
- Configure GST returns, e-invoicing, reverse charge mechanisms, and other tax compliance requirements.
- Ensure all SAP FICO solutions align with the latest GST laws and financial regulations.
- Integration Management: Ensure seamless integration of the FICO module with other SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, etc.) to maintain accurate data flow across the enterprise.
- Testing and Support: Conduct and oversee all testing phases (unit testing, SIT, UAT) and provide go-live and post-production support, handling incident management and issue resolution.
- Documentation and Training: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Deliver user training sessions to enhance end-user understanding and adoption.
- Financial Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, Indian Accounting Standards) and financial principles to system design and problem-solving.
- Auditing Support: Assist with internal and external audit requirements related to SAP system processes and financial data.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Chartered Accountant (CA) Qualification: A strong educational background as a CA is a primary requirement, providing in-depth domain knowledge.
- SAP S/4HANA Experience: Exposure to or experience with SAP S/4HANA is often preferred.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to collaborate effectively with ABAP technical teams for custom developments (RICEF - Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms), including basic debugging skills.
