Job Description
We are looking for a Data Engineer to support our critical daily, monthly, and compliance reporting needs while maintaining the Redshift transformations that power our BI ecosystem. This role requires strong SQL expertise, solid understanding of BI reporting workflows, and the ability to troubleshoot performance and data integrity issues across our data environments.
Experience: 7+Years
Shift timings: 2- 11PM IST
Role and Responsibilities
- Support and maintain daily, monthly, and compliance reporting workflows with high accuracy and timeliness.
- Own and operate Redshift transformations that feed core BI dashboards and analytical outputs.
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL (DML, DDL, DCL) queries and scripts for reporting and data workflows.
- Manage and troubleshoot data issues, data quality gaps, and inconsistencies across reporting layers.
- Investigate and resolve performance issues related to SQL queries, data models, and Redshift workloads.
- Work with engineering and business teams to ensure proper IAM permissions, secure access, and role-based controls in AWS.
- Operate confidently in CLI environments (bash, PowerShell, etc.) for data operations and routine tasks.
- Apply solid knowledge of BI reporting patterns and data warehouse concepts to maintain and improve reporting structures.
- Communicate clearly with both business and technical partners when diagnosing issues or clarifying reporting logic.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with SQL (DML, DDL, DCL), ideally in Amazon Redshift.
- Working knowledge of AWS IAM and data-access permissions.
- Comfortable using command-line tools (bash, PowerShell, etc.).
- Solid understanding of BI reporting workflows and data warehouse fundamentals.
- Ability to troubleshoot data quality and data integrity issues.
- Experience diagnosing performance problems within Redshift or similar SQL engines.
- Strong communication skills with business stakeholders and engineering teams.
Highly Desirable
- Experience with dbt for data modeling and transformation.
- Python experience for scripting and workflow support.
